Renae Jennings has been writing and singing original
music since she was a small girl in church. Her family was very active in
the church and they went several times a week. Renae loves to compose on
the piano. She got her first piano from a friend of the family and they
brought it home in a pick up truck. It was an upright model. As they
were going up the hill to her home the piano fell out and rolled over several times.
Most of the keys still played, and this enhanced her desire to write her own
original songs. She once entered a song writer's contest at the age of 14
and never heard back from them. A few months later she heard her song
being sung on the radio by a famous female singer. Since she did not know
about the copyright law, she never got paid a dime for it. Later on she
joined a band and they won many contest for county music. Renae eventually
moved to Virginia where she met her husband Louis. He encouraged her
passion to write and sing and she won the 1994 Songwriters International
Festival and took 4th place out of hundreds of thousands of contestants.
Renae continued to
play in bands in Virginia and eventually formed the band Wildfire in 1980.
She wrote Crying Until Dawn at that time. Since then Renae has lived in
the Metro DC area, Houston Texas, Nashville Tennessee, Tampa Florida and she
currently resides in Orlando Florida. Renae has continued to write and
sing and she has several hundred songs.
Famous people Renae has met include Tanya Tucker, Lori
Morgan, Leon Russell, Waylon Jennings
and Tom T Hall. She turned down several contract to go on tour because she
did not want to leave her son and husband behind. Touring in the music
business keeps a performer on the road and away from their family's, and Renae
had to make a choice. Today she is living the good life in Orlando and
plans to build a log home in the Georgia mountains and to buy a condo in
Clearwater on the Gulf Of Mexico.
Renae used her 16 track Mackie and 8 track Tascam
DA-88 digital recorder which she mastered on to a Tascam DA-30 2 track stereo.
She then bounces the DA-30 over to her CD burner to make her own cd's. She
has recorded some of her songs in The Mill in Nashville on their 48 track analog reel to reel,
and also Live Oaks Studio in Fairfax Virginia. Most of these songs were
recorded on her equipment in the comfort of her Orlando Florida home.
Renae wants to
publish her songs so that they can be shared with the world wide audience
available on the internet. Please write her and let her know what you
think of her music. She would love to hear from you. Thank you and God bless you.
